| Keiichi Tanaami |
| Tanaami was born in 1936 in Kyobashi, Tokyo. After graduating at the Faculty of Design at Musashino Art University, he followed various creative activities from avant-garde to playful, creating animations, lithographs, illustrations, posters, record covers, and editorial design. In 1968 he traveled to the USA to work at Warhol’s Factory. Later he moved to San Francisco, where he got involved with the psychedelic movement, also experimented with LSD. |
| In 1975, Tanaami became the first Art Director of the Japanese Playboy magazine. He always continued experimenting with motion pictures. His movies were shown at many film festivals all over the world, incl. Oberhausen and Edinburgh. |
| Since 1991 he is Professor of Art and Design at Kyoto University. |
