| Mars-1 has a stunning talent and style that leaves much to the imagination. A mixture of the organic, the paranormal sci-fi, his graffiti roots, and the cosmic psychedelic, his artwork resonates as a purely original style composed of abstract forms. Through the use of pastel colors, coiling tendrils, interweaving animalized forms and outer space inspired imagery, Mars-1 explores the subconscious and otherworldly. |

| Mars-1 says of his style on “The Art Print,” “My style stems from a living dream. My imagination conjures an alien landscape that exists somewhere in the space of my mind.”
A student of the Academy of Art in San Francisco and a predominant force in the San Francisco art world, Mars-1 has exhibited in the Jonathan Levine gallery and around the world. In an interview with Fecal Face, Mars-1 enthused, “I am really psyched on some of the breakthroughs in quantum mechanics and implications, and strange undertone connection quantum theory makes with human consciousness. That’s always mind boggling.” This fascination with the scientific and otherworldly makes his artwork equally mind boggling and visually engaging.

| About the Artist: |
 |
| Mars-1 (aka Mario Martinez) |
| MARS-1 is a left-handed artist who spends most of his time in the right side of his brain, communicating through a visual language. His unique imagery explores possibilities of otherworldly existence through highly developed, multi-layered landscapes. His unique style has been described as urban-Gothic, sci-fi abstracted, quasi-organic form. |
| At age 13, Mars-1 began writing graffiti in his hometown of Fresno. He later attended Academy of Art in San Francisco, where he currently lives and works, remaining heavily active in the city’s contemporary art scene. |
