| Rick’s poster “The Family Dog” (1967) was an underground turning point, a true gateway drug. It looked like the typical front page of a Sunday newspaper funnies section, but “reading” it didn’t make any rational sense. A non-sequitur landscape of surrealistic forms (a la Yves Tanguy or Salvador Dali) accented ambiguous, nonsensical calligraphy. |
